Just like mom's...

About seven years ago, Jack and I got a Bosch Universal Kitchen Machine (?!) for Christmas. (Santa brought it) It was with the hope that I would learn how to make homemade bread that would be just as wonderful as my mom use to make. Well, Jack was the one who actually learned to make the bread, and yes, it did taste like mom's!

That was a miracle because when we asked mom for her bread recipe, she didn't use a recipe, she had it memorized. Mom wrote down for us what she thought was the correct recipe, and it was very close to the recipe that came with the Bosch. So Jack's bread was very good and it became his self appointed, weekly chore, to make and bake this very yummy homemade bread. Very close to mom's...

I wanted to learn how to make bread but for some reason or other, I never did. When we moved up here to Utah, the Bosch was packed away in a box and left in my dad's garage for the past few years. Recently, I rediscovered the Bosch and decided I would learn how to use it.

So today, I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies....a big huge batch of them...just like mom use to make. They are extremely yummy! ( I confess, I usually just use those Betty Crocker cookie mixes) Maybe I'll try bread next...

I really miss my mom.
